CPSIA delay

well, the government listened {no really} to you...and us, who were out to save those precious handmade toys while still providing the safety our kids deserve!

the CPSIA act has passed a postponement for one year for enforcement until there can be more realistic and more clearly defined guidelines for hand made toys! celebrate!!!

cool mom picks has lots of details...so head on over and read up! here's the bullet list:

  • The stay of enforcement provides some temporary, limited relief to the crafters, children's garment manufacturers and toy makers who had been subject to the testing and certification required under the CPSIA.
  • These businesses will not need to issue certificates based on testing of their products until additional decisions are issued by the Commission.
  • The stay does not address thrift and second hand stores and small retailers because they are not required to test and certify products under the CPSIA.

read more about the one year stay and the CPSIA...
and thank you for making your voice heard! there is much more to come in the future!

cool mom picks says it best: "it's all we ever wanted--to protect our kids from lead and other toxins, while being mindful of the good guys who were never a threat in the first place. "

more great stuff on porject{create a home}...so don't stop here, there's way more where this came from!
and come see me anytime you'd like over at a thorn among roses.
