st pat's day fun for toddlers

making st. pat's day fun for toddler's is as easy as "green".

color shamrocks on a card to mail {to grandma}. cut out a shamrock from the front panel of an empty cereal box...let them color away.

color a rainbow with finger paints...and then add gold foil coins with tape for rewards for chores!

go on a seek and find walk, inside or outside the house! go looking for things that are green. take a bag of jelly beans along for the ride and an empty cup...and add a jelly bean to your cup for every green thing you find. use the jelly beans at the end for rewards for helping set the table, or doing nice things for each other.

wear lots of green...and add green wherever you can...hair bows, socks, shoes, ribbons, hats, etc. have a contest to see who is the 'greenest leprechaun' in the family.

make green kool aid playdough for playtime...and be all leprechaun-y!

2 1/2 to 3 cups flour
2 cups boiling water with 1 package Kool-aid (green colored, any flavor)
3 tablespoons corn oil
1/2 cup salt
1 tablespoon alum

Mix ingredients and knead with flour (may take up to 1 extra cup). Use more if the dough draws moisture in high humidity. Keeps well, has a nice fragrance and is very colorful and very flexible.

happy st. patrick's day!!!
