Many circumstances blow dark clouds in and around us. Fear of tomorrow, finances, insecurity, sickness or the loss of the one we love can send us into a tailspin. Chemical imbalances also tip our fragile psyche out of whack once in a while. Ah yes…those wonderful things called hormones…the stinking little buggers.
The tendency is to pull away and try to “deal with it” on our own, but the truth is we need each other. We are created for each other. We are not meant to be alone.

If you’re hurting today, call a friend and tell her. Be honest, she most likely knows already and just doesn’t know what to say.
And if you’re the friend who gets a call, please don’t judge or assume or even try to fix it, just let her talk it out and love her through the darkness.

Thank you for your post today. It was just what I needed to read! Having recently lost both of my parents, I often have days of such sadness, and tend to just have my "moments" of tears in the shower or car, when instead I should pick up the phone and talk to a friend and not just deal with it all alone. Thanks for the nudge and for the great advice for the friends on the listening side too!
