Recovered!

I was so delighted when I learned that I was expecting a baby girl after having 2 boys. I had visions of how I would faux finish and decorate a girl's room for years. Then reality hit...I would have to do it on a budget.

I wanted a beautiful rocking chair in plush fabrics that I could envision me putting my princess to sleep in. I looked and looked for a chair to recover...with no luck! So I had to call in my troops!

I let all of my garage saling, antique store looking friends know what I was looking for. And one of the girls who works for me (love you Joy!) found this rocker and footstool for me THAT very same day at an antique store. The rocker was $40 and the footstool $20. They didn't match, but it didn't matter!

I had my designer girlfriend help me select fabrics that I could afford at JoAnn's crafts and waited for them to go on sale! I also got several estimates from small companies that specialize in recovering furniture.

My designer friend also suggested that I recover the 2 sides of the seat cushion with different fabric on each side so I could flip it as I wish. She is a genius and knows I tire of things easily!

We did sweet chenille on one side and a plaid on the other. Viola! My rocking chair was recovered.
