Locks of Love

My sweet granddaughter Aspen Grace 1st Haircut!
She donated her hair to Locks of Love.

Fun for summer for boys!

If you are a mom with a son or sons, you know how frustrating it can be to shop for him. Often times, retail stores carry more choices for girls. How many times have you stood in a kids' boutique or retail store and said "Is this all they carry for boys?". Am I alone in this frustration?! On one of my shopping days out~a sales associate stated "Well, mothers just don't dress their boys well anymore." {Well, some of us do...Right?!}

I just got the new Mini Boden catalogue in the mail, today. I love to look through this fun little catalogue. AND...they offer many choices for boys. Here are just a few of my summer favorites: They have many options and the shirts and shorts/pants mix and match, very well.

Aren't these the fun?!

Mini Boden offers great baby clothing:

These plaid pants are perfect for spring/summer.

A great pant to dress up for a special occasion.
Boden offers several t-shirts with these charming appliques.

And...this sweet little Romper-Adorable!

Of course, Boden offers clothing for girls. And...they are adorable! They also have fabulous women's clothing. Go over to the website and check it out. If you see something that you can't live without, Boden is offering 15 % off with free shipping and free returns to new customers.

Happy Shopping!

{For the Love of A Before & After}

I don' know about ya'll but I am a sucker for a good ole "Before & After"...pair that with a beach house and MMMMM Mmmmm! You are speaking my language! Preach it! Show me! Give me more! OK, sorry, I get a little out of hand sometimes. But seriously, this is some good stuff! I just had to share.

Every visit my Mother-In Law makes to our house she is never ever without 2 things - homemade cookies and a STACK of magazines for me. Oh how I love that woman. On her last trip she brought me several, one of which being the March issue of Coastal Living. I loved it! I could almost smell the salt air by the time I was finished reading.

They did a feature on a renovated beach house in Georgia. I wanted to share a few highlights....because like I may have mentioned, I love a {Before & After}!

Don't you just love how fresh & fun everything turned out? See what you can do with a little vision? You don't have to be remodeling an entire beach home, or even have a lot of ching-a-ling to have vision. You just have to have the forethought to carry out a plan with a purpose. How much you spend on that plan is up to you. And boy can it be fun!

garbage disposal blues

a smelly sink is more than gross, it's unsanitary...so here's a few tips on making that garbage disposal a little cleaner and fresher.
start by doing the dirty, gross work.
clean the entry flaps. some rubber pieces are removable, others are not. if you can remove the rubber piece, soak in warm soapy water and scrub clean. if not, grab your elbow length gloves, warm and soapy water and a rag and start wiping. when you can't get into those tight spots, an old toothbrush will do the trick.

an earth friendly and quick way to clean up that disposal...
put three cups of baking soda down in the disposal.
add a bottle of lemon juice or one gallon of distilled white vinegar.
stand back and watch the show, because a flurry of bubble joy takes place as the acid mixes with the soda. this will also clear out the drain of all sorts of icky things and kill bacteria, which is always a good thing.

then keep that sink smelling fresh...
citrus....lemons, limes and oranges are great options for refreshing your sink every few days. place the peels in the disposal and run with warm water for a nice fresh smell and refresher.

clean up those blades and clear out the ick with basic ice cubes in the disposal. put a handful of ice cubes in the disposal and chop up.

as always, make sure you follow the recommendations on your own disposals manual to ensure there will be no damage...and never mix chemicals together.
